2007

August

Five Young People from YouthBank’s across the Borough represented BwD YouthBank at the YBUK national residential at the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield. They took part in workshops focused on media related topics—Photography, Film making, presentation, oral history, web design and radio presenting.

September

An update and training day for workers was held. Workers involved in previous training stayed for the morning sessions and new workers stayed on for the rest of the day to complete further training.

Four Young People attended a sailing resi-dential at the Sport Scotland National Centre on the Island of Cumbrae off the coast of Scotland. This was to develop group cohesion and relationships and to thank the Young People for their time and input into the BwD YouthBank project.

October

Twelve new panel members took part in a OCN training day run by YBUK staff. This resulted in them achieving a 10 hour OCN accreditation award.

November


Six Young People took part in drama work-shops with Up Front Theatre group which culminated in a presentation to the 13 – 19 Development group. They enacted a short play which told the story of the YouthBank process and what this means to them.

YouthBank bank account is established.

December

All YouthBank Panels were given a BwD YouthBank Management Information System file which has been developed to help groups to work through the administrative processes and requirements of YouthBank.

2008

January

Two Young People from Brookhouse Health Living Centre YouthBank panel attended a Training the Trainers’ course with YBUK in Manchester. This now enables them to go out with a member of YBUK’s staff and deliver training to other Young People – and get paid for doing it!

March

The YOF/YCF/YOUTHBANK Celebration Event took place at King Georges Hall. Young people from YouthBank panels took part in the organisation and hosting of this event with members of the YOF grant panel. Other members of YouthBank panels came along to watch the show.

April

Four Young People represented BwD YouthBank at the first YBUK North West Regional Event when they joined up and met young people from YouthBanks across the North West at a residential held at Borwick Hall, Carnforth. They took part in a weekend programme of outdoor activities and also discussed how they might work together in the future to develop the North West Regional level of YBUK.
